RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CROPS PLANTING NEW

THIS IS MOST OLIVOS AND PISTACHIOS IN SYSTEM SECANO

a long the whole year 2017 It has been making the implementation of new plantations, Olive both as Pistachio, in rainfed systems (mostly). The first aim of the farmer would carry out a plantation as appropriate as possible to the conditions of our soils. As usual, it is clayey soils containing low organic matter, in carbon / nitrogen, phosphor and microelements. Of the macronutrients have acceptable levels of nitrogen, Potassium, Calcium and magnesium.
Based on these parameters, we need to make a contribution at the time of planting to help the plants develop roots well and reduce stress from lack of water.
For new plantations, recommended the following contributions:
1. -in Olivar, before planting:
– 10-20 kg Compost. Improved soil structure.
– 20 g Polymer. Increases retention and availability of water for the plant.
– 150 gr fertilizer rich in phosphorus. It increases the amount of roots and branches.
2. -in Pistachios, before planting:
– 10-20 kg Compost. Improved soil structure.
– 20 g Polymer. Increases retention and availability of soil water.
– 200 gr fertilizer rich in phosphorus. Improves rooting plant.
Compost facilitates aeration of soil and nutrient availability for plants, in particular phosphorus, because the high pH of our soil makes plants are blocked and can not take. Phosphorus also promotes a better and greater rootedness. Likewise, the use of compost increases the carbon / nitrogen of soils, and this favors the nitrogen soil near the roots is assimilable.
One element we are experiencing in recent years is the repeated lack of rain, reserves depleted soil, so young plantations come before in summer stop, reducing vegetative growth and weakening due to stress. With the addition of polymers, We get an extra refill of water on the floor, being always available to the plant. Employment must be at the bottom of the planting hole, so that it does not degrade with light and also so that the roots do not rise to the surface.
These recommendations are general, so we recommend that you contact our technical service for a better adaptation of the proposed system according to the requirements and needs of our partners.

VISITS, TASTING AND COURSES

  • They organize guided tastings by technicians from the Cooperative and by technicians from the Olvera Denomination of Origin. They take place in our facilities of the Cooperative. They are aimed at schools, to consumer groups, hospitality schools, etc.
  • They organize you guided tours to the oil mill, checking the entire oil production process from the entry of the olive.
  • They are also organized visits to the field, to check the olive harvest and other crops.
  • They are taught training courses and talks on the cooperative activities.
