OLVERA WILL CELEBRATE ITS II OLIVE TREE AND OIL FAIR WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE COOPERATIVE

WILL TAKE PLACE ON DAYS 5,6 Y 7 MAY IN THE FAIR PREMISES

Olivera 2017 will take place the next few days 5, 6 Y 7 May at the fairgrounds of the town. After the good results of the edition 2016, It is expected that the promotional effort of this star product of the Sierra de Cádiz, which is our extra virgin olive oil, will attract media interest and a good number of visitors..
Regarding the participation of the Cooperative, We will once again have a stand inside the fairgrounds, and we will be part of the organization of an attractive technical conference, to be held in our assembly hall. We describe them below:

FRIDAY 5 OF MAY:
– 10.00 h.:Presentation "The need for the integration of agri-food cooperatives." Speaker:Mrs. Esther Ontiveros, Corporate Relations Dcoop
– 11.30-14.30 h.: Presentation "New challenges in agriculture. Stimulate the participation of women in the agri-food sector. " Speaker: Mrs.. Adela Romero, President of the Rural Trebol Association and representative of the Permanent Commission of the Andalusian Council for the Participation of Women.
– 16.00h.: Current Situation of Xilella fastidiosa in Europe and Spain, potential vectors in olive groves and contingency plans.
Speaker: D. Saturnino Pérez Moreno, Head of the Plant Health department attached to the Agriculture and Livestock Service
– 18.00h: The new CAP on the Horizon 2020. Speaker: Pedro Gallardo Barrena, President ASAJA – CADIZ.

SATURDAY 6 OF MAY:
– 9.00h: Lecture "New olive plantations and their relationship in production costs" . Speaker: To be confirmed
– 10:00 h: Miller's breakfast
– 10:30h-13:30h:"Visit-Training in olive grove cultivation: physiognomy of the olive tree. Suitability of the land and its tasks. "
– 16:00 h: Technological innovation in olive growing. Quality of the oils produced. Phytosanitary products in the olive grove. Speaker: AEMO Technician (Spanish Association of Municipalities of Olivo).
– 18:30h: The Role of Denominations of Origin in Agri-Food Products. Speaker: D. Jorge Pascual Hernandez, General Director of Bodega Delgado Zuleta, S.A.

SUNDAY 7 OF MAY:
– 10:00 h:Lecture "Olive Oil and Health" . Speaker: Mrs.. Maria Del Mar Ramirez Carreño, Specialist in Family and Community Medicine, University Expert in Diabetes.
– 11:00 h: Miller's breakfast
– 11:30 h: Training visit to the facilities of the Agricultural Cooperative Ntra.Sra. of the Remedios-Picasat.

VISITS, TASTING AND COURSES

  • They organize guided tastings by technicians from the Cooperative and by technicians from the Olvera Denomination of Origin. They take place in our facilities of the Cooperative. They are aimed at schools, to consumer groups, hospitality schools, etc.
  • They organize you guided tours to the oil mill, checking the entire oil production process from the entry of the olive.
  • They are also organized visits to the field, to check the olive harvest and other crops.
  • They are taught training courses and talks on the cooperative activities.
