A TOTAL OF 718 CLAIMS

Forest fires have affected an area of 12.471 hectares in Andalusia during the extinction campaign, of which 4.437 correspond to wooded area and the rest to scrub, while there have been 718 sinister, although the 80% of them was left alone in an attempt.
The Minister of the Environment, José Fiscal, offered these data during his appearance in the regional Parliament to report the provisional results of the firefighting campaign, which had its main claims in Quesada (Jaén) and the Sierra de Lújar (Granada), both in the heat wave that affected the community. He explained that the burned area is "above" the average for the decade due to the great fire of Quesada and has detailed that the points of the community with the highest recurrence of fires have been Córdoba capital and Linares with 22, Moguer with 12, Aznalcázar with 11 and San Roque with 11.
Prosecutor has assured that the highest percentage of the investigated claims are due to negligence (19,92%), followed by the intended (17,69%), although half of the fires are still under investigation. In the months leading up to the high-risk period, from january to may, the extinguishing device performed 204 interventions in forest soils, affecting a surface of 244 hectares.
The adverse weather conditions that have occurred in Andalusia have been highlighted, since it has been a very dry year, with a water stress in the vegetation before the fire campaign, during which six heat episodes and one wave have been recorded. Prosecutor has placed prevention as "the key to success", what he has argued that the Ministry allocates 50% of the total budget of the Infoca plan to this matter, with auxiliary bands, fire lines and areas, in addition to controlled grazing and adaptation of forest roads.
The counselor, that you have remembered that these data are to 23 September but there are still days of maximum alert, highlighted the work of Infoca employees, in which they work more than 4.500 specialized professionals.
