The Medieval Museum of the Cilla de Olvera welcomed, on Wednesday afternoon 25 of September, the presentation of the Oleoturismo project "Oil and Heritage", organized by the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Aceites Sierra from Cádiz.
After a few first words of welcome from Francisco Párraga, mayor of the town, President Denomination of Origin, Antonio Villalba thanked the presence of large audience that attended the event and highlighted the need to value the traditional mountain olive grove characteristic of the region, as well as the high quality of the oils obtained. On the other hand, explained the convenience to support an oleotourism project complementary to the production industry, that aims to bring the ancestral olive culture of the area closer to a society increasingly interested in knowing the origin of what they consume. A complete informative talk program, Guided visits to the historic centers of the towns and oil mills of the Sierra or the organization of oil tastings and tapas routes would be part of the planning developed by the technicians of the Denomination of Origin.
Later it was given step to the conference "Oil and Heritage", by Francisco Menacho, than highlighted the enormous influence on the cultural, the artistic and monumental cultivation of the olive grove has been, and along the regional history, such so that the olive tree has permeated much of the historical milestones They have taken place in the Sierra de Cádiz.
The activity program was completed with visits to the castle and museum Olvera and conducting an open oil tasting Designation of Origin, where attendees were able to confirm the high organoleptic quality, as well as the most characteristic nuances of the oils of the Sierra.
