THE COOPERATIVE WILL PARTICIPATE IN “OLIVERA”, FIRST OLIVE TREE AND OIL FAIR OF THE SIERRA DE CADIZ

IT IS CELEBRATED BETWEEN 13 AND THE 15 MAY AT THE OLVERA FAIR PREMISES

During the days 13, 14 Y 15 May, the 1st Olive and Oil Fair ‘Olivera’ will be held, that will revolve around the world of olive oil and this crop. With 4.300 hectares and a milling rate of around 20 million kilos of olives, the town of Olvera intends to turn this annual event into a benchmark for the entire region.
The exhibition will take place at the Fairgrounds in Olvera, that has 1200 useful square meters of exhibition and space for 40 stands. The idea is that the mills of the locality and neighboring towns are present, as well as companies linked to the world of oil and olive groves. ‘OLIVERA’ will coincide with the celebration in the town of the traditional Cattle Fair, that has been held since 1935.
Regarding our participation in the event, in addition to having its own stand at the fairgrounds, The Cooperative will host a technical conference in its assembly hall. Specific, It is an informative talk that will take place on Friday 13 May at 19.15 h. and will deal with the "Management of the olive grove: floor, fertilization and phytosanitary treatments ". The speaker will be Vicente Rodríguez Niño, agricultural technical engineer specializing in olive groves. On the other hand, Saturday 14 May at 11.30 h. an oil tasting will be organized at our stand, that will allow those interested to appreciate the qualities of our "green gold". Olivera's program also includes competitions and gastronomic tastings, live cooking and musical shows.

VISITS, TASTING AND COURSES

  • They organize guided tastings by technicians from the Cooperative and by technicians from the Olvera Denomination of Origin. They take place in our facilities of the Cooperative. They are aimed at schools, to consumer groups, hospitality schools, etc.
  • They organize you guided tours to the oil mill, checking the entire oil production process from the entry of the olive.
  • They are also organized visits to the field, to check the olive harvest and other crops.
  • They are taught training courses and talks on the cooperative activities.
