First Edition Competition Selecting the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil Healthy in the province of Cádiz

The oil from Los Remedios-Picasat has been awarded in the First Edition of the contest "Selection of the best Extra Virgin Olive Oils in the Province of Cádiz".
The contest, Summoned by the Cádiz Provincial Council, the objective was to assess the best Cádiz oils of the campaign 2018/2019. For it, competitors underwent laboratory analysis, that determined their properties and the presence of polyphenols, substances by the European Food Safety Agency admits to guarantee salutary effect and transcribes, as such, on the labeling of the product.
After the previous analyzes, Eight oils went to the final and were tasted blind to check the initial sweetness in the mouth and its progression in bitterness or itchiness in the throat. After the sum of all these experiences, the winners of this first edition would be decided. The Cooperativa's «liquid gold» obtained an excellent result, winning twice in the categories: "Best Healthy Ripe Fruity" and "Best Healthy Absolute".
Jose Maria Penco, technical director of the Spanish Association of Municipalities of the Olive Tree and coordinator of the group of experts who made up the jury noted that "they are very complex oils, with a variety of flavors and fruit planes, vegetables and wild that can compete with the best in the world ".
