The recent publication of various studies shows that olive oil is a faithful ally against this disease and its consumption helps in prevention. Researchers from the University of Granada (UGR), in collaboration with the universities of Barcelona and Jaén, have shown the very short-term anticancer character of maslinic acid, a compound derived from olives, in colon adenocarcinoma cells CaCo-2 deficient in the p53 tumor suppressor gene.
