The Minister of Agriculture, Cattle raising, Fisheries and Sustainable Development, Carmen Crespo placeholder image, has participated in the sponsorship ceremony of the olive oils of the campaign 2021-2022 of the Sierra de Cádiz held in Olvera, where she has been proud to "be the godmother of this magnificent fresh oil from the Sierra de Cádiz".
The counselor has valued that quality "is a hallmark of the Sierra de Cádiz, of its Denomination of Origin and of this cooperative that is also involved with sustainability ". Specific, has pointed out that around the 10% of the production of the Cadiz entity is ecological, and has highlighted that "provides employment, fixation of the population and incorporation of young men and women to the countryside ".
This cooperative has 6.500 members, of which more than a thousand are olive growers, and produces extra virgin olive oil protected by the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) ‘Sierra de Cádiz’. In addition to farmers dedicated to the olive grove, Los Remedios-Picasat also brings together cereal and nut producers and ranchers.
