IT WILL APPLY TO MORE THAN 100 MUNICIPALITIES OF CADIZ, MALAGA AND SEVILLE
The Junta de Andalucía has declared a temporary hunting emergency area for damage caused by feral pigs in more than a hundred municipalities in the provinces of Cádiz, Malaga and Seville to preserve the genetic purity of the wild boar and enable its recovery as a wild species. With this measure, published in BOJA, It is also intended to prevent possible health risks and avoid the deterioration of the ecosystem, livestock, agriculture and the urban environment. This resolution will be in force until the end of the hunting season. 2015-2016.
In this way, A series of actions have been launched to control and eradicate these hybrid specimens that are free in the wild., since they lack hunting and livestock interest. The presence of this animal also poses a significant risk for the development of hunting and livestock, as they can become the link in the chain of disease transmission. For all this, the elimination of this species is considered as a basic measure for hunting and livestock use and the optimization of the resources present in the affected municipalities. With that, what's more, the reintroduction of wild boar in certain areas of the emergency area where its presence is practically non-existent is facilitated in the medium and long term.
The means of capture and hunting methods that may be carried out to control feral pigs on hunting and non-hunting grounds, are live catch and hunting weapons (firearms and use of bow).
As for live catches, they will be made through catches whose characteristics and conditions for their use are detailed in the Annex of the joint standard, published in BOJA, of the Ministries of Agriculture and the Environment and Spatial Planning. In relation to the use of firearms, the modalities that may be carried out will be those of stalking, awaits day and night, beats, management and hunting hunts in hand.
Animals killed or captured may only be used for self-consumption when they have undergone all health controls at an authorized examination site.. If they are marketed for human consumption, they must undergo official sanitary controls in a wild game handling establishment., legally authorized.
