Feb 10, 2015 | CATTLE RAISING | 0 comments

THE CENSUS DATA MUST BE COMMUNICATED BEFORE THE 1 OF MARCH
We remind all farmers of the obligation to communicate, in the offices of the Cooperative or in the Regional Agrarian Office, data on the census of your farms before the day 1 of March.
To carry out a correct policy on animal health and livestock sector management, it is necessary to register livestock holdings, as stated in national and community legislation, both horizontal and sectoral. The Royal Decree 479/2004, from 26 of March, establishes and regulates the General Register of livestock farms (REGA), as well as the necessary data to carry out the registrations of the livestock farms in this.
This Royal Decree establishes the obligation for the owners of livestock farms to report data on the census of farms annually and always before the 1 March of each year, indicating the average census of the previous year or the census established in the specific regulatory provisions of each sector, in the manner determined by the competent authority.
In accordance with current regulations, it is necessary to update every year the census referring to the following categories of animals: non-breeders less than 4 months, non-breeders from four to twelve months, male breeders and female breeders.
Essential requirement to receive PAC aid: In this sense, it is important to remember that to obtain certain livestock aid such as the CAP aid, it is necessary to comply with the annual census communication, within the established period.
Failure to carry out this communication of the censuses prevents a farmer from being a beneficiary of the Single Payment aid, since it is a mandatory requirement and required by community regulations.
